SONGS ARCHIVE HAS NOW MOVED TO FORUM

This page will eventually contain a list of songs. For each there is a brief description of what inspired it, plus an archive of MP3s, each approximately 1 minute long, that record the evolution of that song (Some are years old..., how time flies).

There are also mixes and extracts of songs that I think may be of interest. A version of each song is currently on the music player on the home page and I have indicated which version by the word "Player". Those on the player can also be purchased using PAYPAL as an MP3 from my SHOP

Song:   Hold On (Final Title)
Version Date
History:   I wrote this song after the Indian Ocean Tsunami killed over 200,000 people. It became apparent that as a species we are quite small and powerless when compared to the might of a great natural disaster. Every one of those that died had plans and dreams for their tomorrow. Tomorrow never came. Make the most of today and live life to the full.
(Listen)   Instrumental. Working title at the time was "Still It Rains"

(Listen)   After messing around with vocals I thought this "Acappella" type mix might be worth uploading

Song: Scared To Dream
History:   Originally named "Fragile". This song was inspired by my day dreaming of going travelling. I spent a lot of my youth bumming around Europe, working in the USA and Israel. I sometimes find the responsibilities of adult life (and being a parent) can be oppressive. Sometimes I get cabin fever and get a little stir crazy. It's during these times that I sometimes feel like simply buggering off. However the reality of doing such a thing would have dire consequences on my domestic and professional life.
(Listen)   Original working Instrumental.

(Listen)   First demo with me on vox.
11 Jan 08
Player   Working mix with Marc Atkinson on Vox / Backing vox.

Song: Hello
History:

A very personal song for me. I wrote this for my Dad who died a couple of years ago. He spent the vast majority of his last couple of years in and out of hospital with cancer with its associated treatments. He did get chance to hear this before he died. I miss him.

I'm not sure if this song will appear on the finished CD? Even now, when writing this webpage, it brings tears to my eyes. It may be some time before I can revisit this song.

Player: The song with Marc Atkinson on vocals. His beautiful voice total captures the meaning of this song
