Seeing as how the vast majority of the albums from the "Top 25 Studio Albums Of Prog" thread were from the genre's 70s heyday, it was suggested a separate poll be taken focusing on modern-day prog. This is an excellent idea, so here it is! Only rules: studio albums only, and no compilations. I realize that a lot of prog fans still may not be as familiar with the more modern-day acts, so this time I'm only asking for a top 20; however, if you want to list more albums than that you most certainly can. I myself am not familar with much of what's out there and am actually currently trying to catch myself up on some acts I've missed (ie. my recent thread on Big Big Train). But here's what my top 20 list looks like at this point:1. Kid A, Radiohead 20002. Emperor Tomato Ketchup, Stereolab 19963. Illinoise, Sufjan Stevens 20054. In Absentia, Porcupine Tree 20025. Hunger's Teeth, The 5UUs, 19946. The Underfall Yard, Big Big Train 20097. Fear Of A Blank Planet, Porcupine Tree 20078. Emehntehtt-Re, Magma 20099. Nucleus, Anekdoten 199510. Dots And Loops, Stereolab 199711. Up The Downstair, Porcupine Tree 199312. The Age Of Adz, Sufjan Stevens 201013. De-Loused In The Comatorium, The Mars Volta, 200314. Grace For Drowning, Steven Wilson 201115. Seeds On The Ground, Cold Fairyland 200716. 2032, Gong 200917. Hybris, Anglagard 199218. Frames, Oceansize 200719. In Extremis, Thinking Plague 199820. Sacrament, White Willow 2000Oh what the hey here's the next five:21. Tales From The Lush Attic, IQ 198322. The Whirlwind, Transatlantic 200923. All Delighted People, Sufjan Stevens 201024. Blomljud, Moon Safari 200825. Bi Kyo Ran, Bi Kyo Ran 1982I wanted to include some Flower Kings, Ars Nova and Pineapple Thief but none of those bands have made consistent enough albums IMO.
